A few days back from my trip and I tripped and I mean I
tripped. Flat on my face, black eye, bruised shoulder and a
knee that refused to bend for days.
OK I'll start at the beginning. I was in a great mood and
was taking a walk with my partner, our 2 dogs, and three
neighborhood kids that have adopted us. We were joking
and generally having fun when a truck comes down the
road. My dog Maggie a Poodle/Border Collie mix just
had to chase it. I am trying to break her of this very bad
habit. I was in the road so I just stepped toward the middle
to intercept her. Unknown to me Damian, the 7 year old
of the bunch, who is riding his bike goes to stop Maggie
and we sort of collided. I tripped over something on the
bike and boom, I fell.
The body is amazing I have been sleeping for days as it has
been taking care of itself. I see a little group of workers in
there with their tool box going to work on the damage.
Long story short...I haven't been painting. I go to the studio
and stare with an ice pack on my knee.
Just saw the date, happy Cinco de Mayo!

aaarrrgggg! ow! so sorry and glad to hear the workers are busy doing the healing - I also tripped and fell last week - Jim and I were walking in the woods (see it all starts with that dang walking) I tripped, on something, who knows what, and fell - you know how you can feel yourself going?, but can't stop the motion? - anyway, I was lucky because the ground was covered in dead needles from the trees so was rather spongy - I rolled over and just lay there for a bit - blue sky, tall trees, birds - Jim hovered, worried - I finally got up and advil has been my best friend for a number of days - I think you take the right road and that is bed and rest to allow the body to heal.....I really like this painting - it feels like a party and then the hangover......
LOL Jeane, Party and the hangover. That's good!
I would have liked to have laid in some needles looking at the sky. Girl you know how to react to a fall, you also know where to fall!
Katherine, listen to your body and take it easy. Sounds like quite a nasty fall. Hope you feel 100% soon.
I love this painting too...but the hangover? ....that makes me look at it again with new eyes. Is that a hand clawing for balance? It must have been some party!
Ouch! Take care of yourself and let those inner workmen do their healing.
Came here from San's site. That is a wonderful three-dimensional rendering.
Take care of your self.. What a story..
I love your work..It truly inspires me.
Thank you all for your well wishes. I am mending as we speak.
I love the abstract drippy quality of this piece as well as the echo of geometric shapes in the background. Such an interesting and beautiful juxtapostion! So nice to fine your blog!
