Angela Wales Rockett- Art and Meaning

"The Unknown Region", acrylic on canvas, 30" x 40", ©2009

"What meaning does doing art have for you?"
Doing art means searching the depths in order to find
the Source. Doing art means honoring my gift. It means
honoring the mystical encounter with the God who is
the Source of all beauty. Doing art is a spiritual practice,
a place to slow down and deeply observe in a world that
seems to be constantly asking, even demanding, that we
speed up and skim the surface. And through the completed
paintings I hope to provide a place for others to do the same.

Art as spiritual practice shows in Angela's work. It has a calmness about it reflective of her journey. And it speaks to my journey as well. I love it.

Thank you Angela for your wonderful participation. If it wasn't for the artists saying yes and taking the time to respond this would not be a great project.
