Traffic Jam
Oil on canvas 9"X6" $95 plus $6 shipping
If you are interested in this painting please email me at
katherine@katherinetreffinger.com
I am in some strange mood to be painting like this but I am moving with it.
Don't want to jam it up. Just moving paint around to keep momentum.
Speaking of jams and traffic jams that is one thing about living where I do
there are no traffic jams. What a huge relief. Growing up in the San Francisco
Bay Area there was very little traffic. I remember being 17 driving in the slow
lane on Highway 101, having a blow out and ending up in the fast lane headed
the opposite direction. It scared me half to death but there was so little traffic
I never was in any real danger. Now would be radically different. There
is so much traffic I would just end up colliding with the car next to me.

Coyote
The original drawing is charcoal, conte, and gouache on paper 22x30 and is sold. Beautiful Giclee prints are
available on Hahnemuhle rag paper with archival ink.
22x30 $250, 18x24 $150. Second print (of any of my Giclees) is half the price. Shipping cost varies. For purchasing please email me at katherine@katherinetreffinger.com
I live now in the land of Coyote, Bighorn Sheep, Fox, Eagles, and Antelope.
I always find it a privilege to run into any of these wondrous creatures. I am
not surrounded by people who would agree especially about wily coyote.
Ranchers will stop their truck on the side of the road and pull the rifle
out and shoot the coyote. I guess that's an old relationship they have
and that's why coyote is so wily.

Cindy's Confetti
Oil on canvas 9"x6" $95 plus $6 shipping
If you are interested in purchasing this painting please email me at katherine@katherintreffinger.com
I did what I said I would and I went into the studio and played. Squares and dots. Confetti. A party. I was just moving paint around and that's what happened.
Just when I think I have a 'style' something else appears. I never understood the pressure for
artists to produce a body of work in the same vein. It feels so anti-art to me. I look at all my
work hanging around the house and I feel like a group show all by myself.

Seismic
Oil on canvas 14"x11" $275
If you are interested in purchasing this painting please email me at katherine@katherinetreffinger.com.
I grew up on a fault line and though I can't imagine living a life with tornadoes and hurricanes,
life with earthquakes was just the way it was. I would imagine it's the same for those who grew
up around other huge events of nature. At any rate it was bound to sneak its way into my art at
some point. Or at least into my associations with my art. I can't be held totally responsible. My partner
named the piece.

Radio Flyer
Oil on canvas 9x6 SOLD
I decided to post this piece that I did last summer as a reminder to just play when I go in to the studio today. Now that I have started a blog the pressure is on and I don't work well that way.
Of course the other thing is that it hardly ever only takes a day for a painting to happen no matter how small it is. I keep it around and go back into it several times. Many times I have to let the oil paint dry so I can successfully go back in the way I want. This painting was fast and fun.
